The HR & L and D team supports Alfred H Knight and its people to achieve our business aims by having the right people in the right place at the right time with the right skills. We are responsible for the development of our people policies and processes, as well as supporting our managers and teams to bring them to life in practice. Our remit covers the full ’employeelifecycle’, including recruitment, induction and training, how to inspire strong performance and keep our people engaged, and how we develop, recognise and reward our people.

As our Apprentice Business Administrator, you will be a key part of our dynamic HR and L and D team, providing true generalist support to your own team as well as our managers and employees by:

  • Supporting the Talent Acquisition process

  • Supporting L and D, including organising learning events (classroom and virtual), liaising with external providers, preparing materials and processing evaluations

  • Supporting joiner and leaver processes

  • Organising inductions and onboarding

  • Ensuring current HR and L and D databases are maintained with high data integrity

  • Supporting implementation of new HR and L and D systems

  • Assisting with monthly payroll and benefits

  • Administering people processes such as compensation, Development Reviews, salary and bonuses

Desired qualifications

  • Five (5) GCSEs at Grade C / 5 or above including English and Maths

  • Some experience of working or volunteering outside school / college (desirable)

  • Any knowledge of Spanish, Mandarin, French or Portuguese (desirable)
