Quantitative Analyst – Power Trading

This role will provide quantitative analysis, derivatives expertise, structuring/asset valuation, statistical modelling and opportunity identification to support commercial and trading activities.

Working as part of the Front Office team you will provide quantitative analysis for the Trading teams. This will include developing profitable trading strategies as well as developing, validating and maintaining trade valuation, risk management and financial simulation models. In addition you will provide commercial and statistical analysis for projects. You should have a proven track record in forecasting using machine learning, data science techniques and neural networks.

To be considered for this role you will have an excellent academic background and should ideally have experience of the energy markets. Knowledge and understanding of derivatives, energy risk management and their application to commodity trading is also highly desirable. You should have experience of programming ideally in Python, R or Matlab. In addition you should have excellent communication skills and be able to develop strong working relationships with stakeholder teams.
