The Role:

Reporting to the Head of KYC, you will be predominately performing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for counterparties that pose a higher risk of financial crime to M&G plc and it’s Group Companies. This will include new and existing counterparties across a diverse range of client types including, but not limited to, individuals, trusts, corporate bodies, complex entity structures. You will need to gather information from publicly available resources, internal business areas and systems to ensure the due diligence completed meets the Standards and Policies set by M&G PLC. We will rely on you to ensure that the due diligence file is complete and ready for presenting to Senior Management, including the MLRO, for approval.

You will support the Head of KYC by ensuring the team inbox is managed efficiently on a daily basis, raising any concerns in a timely manner. You will manage key business stakeholders in the completion of due diligence activities ensuring compliance at all times and support other team members as required to ensure the Team delivers as a whole, including, but not limited to, quality checking and approving work completed by other members of the team.

Key Work Level Accountabilities:

Manager or Expert:

  • For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders
  • For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Completion of EDD case files on a diverse range of counterparty types, across both new and existing clients in tight timeframes
  • Presenting EDD files to Senior Management, including the MLRO
  • Support completion of standard due diligence files, as required
  • Reviewing standard due diligence case files prepared by other members of the team, providing constructive feedback as required
  • Complete quality assurance checks on standard due diligence files
  • Assist in maintenance of process and procedures utilised by the team
  • Coach and train other members of the team, as required
  • Contribute to production of daily, weekly and monthly Management Information (MI) on key financial crime matters
  • Support any additional work that might be required, such as project support
  • Escalation of new ideas or concerns to the Head of KYC to support ongoing delivery of the team

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • To be considered for this role you will be an experienced financial crime professional with knowledge of financial services and have a good understanding of key financial crime regulatory. This includes having a proven understanding of what constitutes as a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) and the risks associated, alongside other high risk triggers which indicate EDD is required.
  • You will also have;
  • Working knowledge of all areas of financial crime, AML, ABC, Sanctions, Fraud and Tax Evasion, with proven experience of AML requirements at a minimum
  • An industry qualification in at least one of the technical areas would be desirable (AML & Sanctions, ABC, Fraud)
  • Practical application of the JMLSG guidelines
  • Several years’ experience in a Financial Crime Compliance role, preferably within the Financial Services industry
  • Appreciation of regulation impacting financial crime outside of the UK
  • Ability to focus on delivery in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to take a commercial outlook and business a
