Grow with Greencore

We work hard to ensure that Greencore is a great place to work and our people truly are at the core. We’re committed to ensuring all our colleagues have development plans and strive to provide inspiring leadership – in fact, in the past year we’ve seen an 11% increase in the number of colleagues who would recommend Greencore as a place to work. Join us and be part of our great team, committed to making every day taste better.

We’re always looking for passionate and talented people who can help us drive our future success. As a degree apprentice, you will earn a competitive salary whilst undertaking a CMI Chartered Management degree or Food Industry Technical Professional degree in partnership with Nottingham Trent University. You will also gain valuable experience in a variety of roles, giving you the opportunity to be an integral part of our management team upon completion

More about our Technical Apprenticeships

In Technical, you will learn how to monitor the quality of our products to make sure they meet our high standards, working with Process Technologists, Tech Services and Hygiene Teams to contribute towards meeting our business objectives.

We are currently recruiting for our Technical pathway based at Manton Wood, Bow, Heathrow, Kiveton, Wisbech, Northampton, Selby and Spalding / Boston.

Apply Now

A pre-requisite for joining our degree apprenticeship programme is for you to hold GCSE (or equivalent) grades A-C in English and maths. If you don’t have these certificates or you gained formal education abroad, you will need to complete an assessment later in the process.

You will also need to have the right to work in the UK.

In your application please provide details about your previous qualifications and experience. If you are a college leaver, we will require a minimum of 120 UCAS points (attained or predicted).

What will happen when you apply?

Online application and strengths assessment

You will complete an online application form, for which you should expect the following sections: Personal details, education, work experience, programme preference, and diversity & inclusion data. Some questions within this section will determine whether you move onto the next stage, i.e. whether you meet the minimum eligibility criteria.

Once this part is complete, you’ll complete a strengths assessment. This is all online, you don’t need anything other than yourself to complete it. You’ll get plenty of instructions to guide you through it – and it’s not timed, so you can go at your own pace.

If you don’t make it through this round, you will receive a feedback report on your strengths assessment which will be useful, we hope, for your own ongoing development.

Telephone Interview

If you’re successful in the online stage, you’ll be invited to a telephone interview. This will be conducted by our partners Cappfinity Ltd, who are experts in strengths assessment, and they will take you through 8 questions.

Like the online assessment, this is all about your strengths, so there isn’t a lot of preparation to do. Most importantly – try to relax and be yourself!

Assessment Centre

Our Assessment Centres take place virtually. You will be sent a link and a guide on what to expect for the day. A team of assessors will guide you through a number of tasks that will help us understand your fit with the programme and The Greencore Way.

You will be fully briefed on your preparation for the Assessment Centre by the Cappfinity team.

The Assessment Centres will be scheduled from January 2021.

Site / Team Visit

After Assessment Centres, we often find it makes sense for high-potential candidates to visit the site where we would place them. Sometimes this is about seeing the site, the environment and the operations that happen there. Sometimes it’s about meeting the team. But it is always about making sure that you can see exactly where you’d be: this has to be as right for you as it is for us.

If this all goes well, we will make you an offer subject to your successful enrolment on the degree apprenticeship with Nottingham Trent University…

University Enrolment & Interview

By this stage, we will know that you’re right for us. The next step is to confirm that you’re a good candidate for the degree.

This step will involve you completing Nottingham Trent University’s application form.

You will then meet the Course Leader for an interview based on the assignment. This can be face to face on campus in Nottingham, or by telephone or Skype. We’ll work out the best option when the time comes.

Once you’re accepted onto the programme, we will issue your formal written offer, terms and conditions of employment with Greencore.

September 2021 – join the team!

In the time before you start, we’ll keep in touch and make sure you get the opportunity to meet up with your line manager and if possible your team. We’ll also send you snippets of information that we think will be useful for you.

And after what we hope will be fantastic summer, you’ll join the team!

Your induction period will start with the launch event, where you will meet your fellow apprentices and people from Nottingham Trent University.

We are now accepting applications, apply now!
