Course Curriculum

Module 1: What is Legionella?

In the first module, we will learn what legionella is, how the bacteria spreads and the symptoms of legionnaire’s disease.

Module 2: Risk Areas

In the second module, we will explore who is most at risk of legionella and what level of legionella is dangerous.

Module 3: Legislation

In the third module, we will familiarise with some key legislation regarding legionella control and the legal responsibilities of duty holders.

Module 4: Risk Management

In the fourth module, we will take a look at some risk management procedures for minimising the risk of legionella in the workplace.

Module 5: Water System Monitoring

In the fifth module, we will deepen our understanding of water system monitoring and how to test water systems for legionella bacteria.

Module 6: Cooling System Awareness

In the final module, we will learn different ways of controlling legionella in evaporating cooling systems.
